Fiancé(e) Visas: A current United States citizen may be able to sponsor their fiancé(e) for immigration to the U.S. if they plan to marry within 90 days of their fiancé(e)’s entry into the country. There is a three-part process that starts with the U.S. Citizenship Service initially by filing a fiancé(e) petition. Once the petition is approved, the fiancé(e) may apply for a fiancé(e)visa and will be required to attend a consular interview. Finally, after entry to the United States and married, the foreign national may apply for an adjustment of status process and obtain his/her legal permanent residence in the United States.
